PCR Tests for COVID-19 – Screening Operation in Nursing Homes
Under a protocol signed between the Instituto de Medicina Molecular João Lobo Antunes iMM and the Ministério do Trabalho, Solidariedade e Segurança Social, a preventive screening operation for COVID-19 in nursing homes and residences for the elderly was organized and implemented under the terms of the Instituto da Segurança Social in the districts of Lisbon, Santarém, Guarda and Castelo Branco.
Between March 2020 and June 2021, more than 100,000 COVID-19 PCR screening tests were performed, covering employees from 609 institutions.
